Did I Mention I Love My Job?
I have only been at my new job for a few months but I can say confidently that I love my job as a chaplain instructor. Why do I enjoy it?
Part of it is the people I get to work with. Part of it is it includes teaching. Part of it is it includes ongoing learning for me. Part of it is that I get to help shape the position as I am the first to have it.
But I think what draws me the most is that I believe in military chaplaincy. I know that chaplains are making a difference and they add value not just to the Canadian Armed Forces but they have a positive impact on individual lives.
I get to be a part of that. My time is not spent as much working with individual soldiers (although I still have conversations) but I get to help new chaplains as they begin their careers either in the Regular or Reserve Force.
I am thankful that I have been given this opportunity.
