Good News: Hitting the Trails
One of the first things we did once we moved to Nova Scotia was to buy a dirt bike for Justus. He has always wanted one but it was never appropriate where we lived.
He loved the dirt bike and enjoyed the trails near our house. But there was one problem. He wanted to share this with his family.
I tried his dirt bike with the consideration that I might buy one. However, it was not for me. I was not comfortable on the street, much less the trails.
But this past week, we bought an ATV. I felt a little weird spending so much money on one. Surely there were better things to get.
However, it was money well spent. I have been able to hit the trails with Justus and Emma. First of all, the trails around here are incredible and it is personally life giving to me.
But more than that, my teenage children actually want to do this with me. Justus gave up a day hitting trails with his friends so that he could do it with Emma and I. That is priceless.
This has been part of our hope for our mover to Nova Scotia: a slower pace of life, more outdoors times, and quality experiences for the family. I think that is worth the price of a few vehicles.
