Good News: Paintball Fun
I had a great time on Saturday in a way that touched multiple parts of my life. As part of the end of the training year, the Nova Scotia Highlanders had a number of events including paintball.
I had not played paintball for about twenty years but I knew that I wanted to be a part of this. It was a time for me to get to know some of the members, as I am fairly new to the unit, but also have a lot of fun.
The ironic thing is that as a chaplain, I do not use weapons. But when it comes to paintball, we are all equal (at least when it comes to equipment). I enjoyed showing my people.
But to make the day even better, I brought two of my children. They had a blast and did very well, considering they had never done paintball before. They really held their own, especially against trained soldiers.
It was such a great time, especially when it brought family and my military chaplaincy work together. Plus, I only got a couple of welts.
