Good News: Time With the Kids
While we very much love living in Nova Scotia, one of the hardest parts of this is that our two oldest children still live in Ontario. Because they live in group homes, there is no easy way to bring them to Nova Scotia.
I never know when I am going to see them and although we Zoom call with them most weeks, nothing beats an in-person visit. Thankfully, I was able to see them a few days ago.
I am doing some military chaplain training in Ontario, something I will talk more about soon. For now, I want to focus on the fact that this allowed a visit.
My visit with Abby was mostly cuddling on the couch, watching Beauty and the Beast. She seemed very happy to have me there. For Logan, we went to Tim Horton’s for a drink and a donut, and then back to his place to watch some television.
That might not seem like much, but it actually was a lot for me. I really enjoyed seeing them and those visits really blessed me.
Speaking of blessings, I am thankful for my fellow chaplain who lent me his car so that I could drive the two hours from the base to the group homes. I am truly a blessed person.
