Handling Controversial Conversations About Autism
There have been many times when people have discovered my children have autism that they strongly affirm that autism is caused by vaccines or they offer a surefire cure for autism. I always have to make a conscious decision about how I should respond. My first thought is always a debate but rarely is that the right decision.
I love this list of ways to respond by Laura Shumaker. I should keep this list in my wallet. In fact, this strategy could work for a number of controversial subjects. This is great stuff.
