Justice League: The Flashpoint Paradox – Review
I was browsing through Netflix this afternoon, looking for something to watch and I came across Justice League: The Flashpoint Paradox. Being a longtime Justice League fan, I decided to give it watch.
I will admit that I never read the Flashpoint comics and I have no idea if there is any connection between the movie and the comics.
The story begins with a conflict between Flash and his Rogues, led by Professor Zoom. With some help from the Justice League, the good guys win. However, when Barry Allen wakes up from a nap, the world has completely changed.
In this world, Superman was not found as a baby by the Kents. Hal Jordan never became the Green Lantern. There is a Batman, but something different happened when Thomas and Martha were mugged. In this world, Aquaman and the Atlanteans are at war with Wonder Woman and the Amazons.
The only one who knows the way things are supposed to be is Barry Allen, but he doesn’t have super speed in this world, the super speed he needs to change things back.
I really enjoyed this movie. Barry Allen has not always been the most interesting character (even if he has great powers) but this story really fleshed him out. There was also a very neat take on Superman and how things could have gone for him. I love the twist in the story of Batman and the end scene is pretty amazing.
It is a pretty violent movie and plenty of heroes and villains get killed. But it was a good story and it definitely kept my interest. The animation was top notch. Definitely recommended for all superhero fans.
