Not Regretting Nova Scotia
We have been living in Nova Scotia for over three years now. Having grown up and spending most of my life in Ontario, I never thought I would live in Nova Scotia.
I still often get asked: “Are you glad that you moved?”
In some ways it was a hard decision. We were at a good church in Ontario and we had plenty of family around. More than that, two of our children lived in Ontario and would not be moving with us.
Despite all of that, we really have fallen in love with the Maritimes. We have not explored as much as we would like but we have seen a fair bit of Nova Scotia and some of New Brunswick.
Not being critical of Ontario, we are very happy with Nova Scotia. We are at a great church and I am serving with some amazing army units as a chaplain.
We have had many difficulties in our three years here (mostly health related), more than we ever expected. Nevertheless, I do not regret moving here. We do not know what the next couple of decades will look like but we expect to still be here.
