Saying Goodbye…
This past week has been a difficult and yet encouraging week. It has been a time of tremendous change.
For quite a long time, much of my life has revolved around being a pastor of a church and a part-time chaplain in the army reserves. This is no longer the case.
Last week, i had my last training nights with my two reserve units, 3 Intelligence Company and Nova Scotia Highlanders. I have very much appreciated serving with them and have gotten to know some tremendous people.
Yesterday, I had my last Sunday with my church, Brookfield Baptist Church, the church where Amanda and I have been co-pastors. We had a lovely lunch after the service and we said our goodbyes to some incredible people.
There has been some sadness and grief in this process so how is this Good News?
It is Good News because I have had the privilege to be a part of a number of wonderful communities. I have not only been their to support them, I have felt support from each of them, including this past week.
This has been a time of a change and I am still in that time. My new role is just beginning. I am thankful for the communities that I have been part of and all of the people I have gotten to know. I have been truly blessed.
