Set Some Goals For Your Blogging
As I write this, it is nearing the end of the year. It is a time when people are considering resolutions for the new year. Whatever you think about new year’s resolutions, it is always a good time to be thinking about setting goals.
Goals should not be vague as “becoming a better blogger” or “blogging more often.” I like the SMART guide for setting goals.
Specific
Measurable
Attainable
Relevant
Time-measured
With this in mind, what kind of goals should you set? It depends on your circumstances. Here are some examples of the type of goals that are SMART and that may or may not be applicable to your context.
- Increase blog traffic by fifty visits per day in the next three months.
- Start an email list and get 100 subscribers in the next six months.
- Update the blog theme, change up the widgets and freshen up the images by the end of next month.
What is most important is that you set some goals. If you aim for nothing you are guaranteed to get it.
