Star Trek Voyager: Season Four – Review
The fourth season of Voyager really got things moving. The season began with a surprising alliance between the Borg and Voyager against an even more powerful species.
This brought the new character Seven of Nine into the crew. Her inclusion really changed the dynamic of the show. She was at times annoying but annoying in the way you would expect a person raised by the Borg to be. Seven was a great addition to the show.
Another change was the exit of Kess. Her character had never really been developed and so her departure was not much of a loss. Interestingly, with Kess gone, Neelix became a much less annoying character.
There were some excellent episodes in this season. I particulalrly appreciated Nemesis, which looked at how the enemy is often dehumanized in order to make killing them easier.
There were a couple of two-parters that were very good. These were Year of Hell and The Killing Game, which were amazing. If you ever wanted to see Klingons fighting Nazis, this is your chance.
One of the other things I liked was the contact made between Voyager and Starfleet. That really moved the plot along.
The fourth season of Voyager was definitely a good one.
