Teaching at the Chaplain School
I have been a military chaplain for thirteen years. For much of that time, I have been taking courses to become fully qualified. Last May, I took my final required course and reached Operational Function Point (OFP).
I remember on the last day of that course asking if they ever brought in reservists as incremental staff to teach at the chaplain school. They replied in the affirmative.
They have recently completely restructured the chaplain training into four phases. A couple of months ago, I co-taught the first phase, which was all online. Yesterday, I arrived at the chaplain school in preparation for teaching phase two next week.
While this is work, I am very happy about this. Two of my favourite things are military chaplaincy and teaching. To be able to do both of these things is something that brings me joy.
I am thankful for Brookfield Baptist Church for giving me the time to do this. I also want to thank Amanda who is holding down the fort both at home and at the church. You have no idea how much I appreciate this!
I’m excited for the course to start next week and I look forward to meeting the students in person.
