Ukrainian Waffen SS Division
A little known aspect of World War Two history recently received wide coverage in an embarrassing way. In the Canadian parliament, at which the Ukrainian president was visiting, a Second World War veteran was recognized as a Canadian and Ukrainian war hero.

This individual and a number of other Ukrainian immigrants to Canada belonged to the Ukrainian Waffen SS Division. This was a volunteer unit of Ukrainians that fought the Soviets, as well as Partisans, and others. You can learn more in this video.
