5 Reasons I Decided to Build Model Airplanes
I did something that seems like a little thing but is important to me. I bought a model airplane kit. Specifically a Spitfire MKII. Why would a (almost) 48 year old man buy a model airplane kit?
I’m glad you asked because I’m going to tell you.
- A long time ago, a respected leader strongly urged me to take up a hobby. Specifically, one not related to my work. In other words, not reading or writing. Years later I’m finally following her advice.
- Building model airplanes was a fun part of my childhood and returning to this hobby scratches my nostalgic itch.
- One of my interests is that of World War Two. Since that is the era of airplanes I’m going to build, this fits well with my interests.
- Working with small parts and painting details helps me to develop my focus.
- It’s fun. Really this should be enough. But since I like to overthink things, I decided to add the other four.
I started work on this plane today but I don’t plan to rush it. I intend to enjoy the experience.
