Good News: Back to My Units
I really enjoy my career as an army chaplain in the reserves. It is one of the best decisions that I have ever made. I’m very glad I was able to carry over this ministry from Ontario to Nova Scotia.
The way it works is that there is a stand down in spring when regular training takes a break. Instead of parading every week at the unit, people often do summer training, take courses, or find some other full-time employment for the military. Or they might take the summer off.
I definitely was just as busy during the summer. I got to experience a number of new things and I learned a lot. It really was a summer of growth.
But there is something special about serving with my units. I am blessed to serve with two units: 3 Intelligence Company and 3 Military Police Regiment. This past week, I was able to return to these units.
I never see this as a chore to be endured. Serving with these units is a blessing to me and I’m thankful for the men and women in these units. Being back is good for my soul.
