Good News: Easter
As a Christian, one of the most important days for me is Easter Sunday. This is not just a cultural observance, but something that reflects my belief in the actual resurrection of Jesus.
Last year, we were not able to have an in-person church service for Easter Sunday. That was a strange feeling. It was looking like the same thing would happen this year.
Pastors during the pandemic tend to be either be extremely cautious or desiring to have things as back to normal as possible. I will admit that I’m on the cautious side. If someone looked at my ministry during the pandemic, I would prefer that they say me as overly cautious than overly risky.
Still, I didn’t really want to miss a second in-person Easter service. So our leadership came up with a compromise. We had a small in-person service, limited to just twenty people, that was then streamed to Facebook and later posted on YouTube.
I will admit to still being nervous about the service, despite some of us having our first vaccine shot. Still, it was also nice to be together to celebrate the resurrection of Jesus.
We will go back to online only until it is safer. But this was a nice way to celebrate Easter.
