Justice League Dark: Apokolips War
DC has done very well with there animated movies, in many ways better than their live-action movies. The most recent one I watched was Justice League Dark: Apokolips War.

It was okay. It definitely was beautifully animated and had a lot of interesting aspects. But it was not as good as I expected.
First of all, I thought the title was misleading and not the Apokolips War part. There is a team called Justice League Dark but they were not really featured here. This was more the Justice League plus John Constantine and the Demon.
The interesting part of this is that they were able to tell a story without the pressure of keeping major characters alive. Everyone was an option to be killed.
The movie was quite dark (maybe that’s what they meant by JLD) and it became kind of depressing. I realize that is meant to be one chapter of the story that DC is trying to tell in their animated movies.
I thought the best part of the movie was the fight between Darkseid and Trigon. That was a fight that I have been waiting for.
Probably those who have watched all of the DC animated movies will have enjoyed Apokolips War more than I did. It was a good movie but not the best I have ever watched.
