Logan Made My Day
I just had an experience I never thought I would have. Amanda and the girls went out. Justus was out with his friends. That left Logan and I together. We needed milk so I had to go to the store. I have not gone out with Logan in a long time but I thought I would give it a try. I told him we could get a pop and a chocolate bar while we were at it. Being a runner, I tried to hold his hand. He made it clear that he was too old (cool?) for holding dad’s hand. So we walked side by side to the store. We looked like any dad and son. We have never had that without Logan trying to run away. When we got to the store it was the same thing. No one would have guessed that he had severe autism. We got the milk and he picked the pop and chocolate bar he wanted. It was the most normal I have ever felt with Logan. Truth be told, he was far easier than our three youngest when it comes to going to the store. I am so thankful for this moment. Logan definitely made my day.
