Review of Cicero: On Divination
My first review for the Review of Biblical Literature has just come online. I reviewed Cicero’s On Divination Book One. I found this to be a very helpful book in understanding Roman religion around the time of Jesus. You can find the review here.
Yes, I appreciate the article. This will be good to look into. I know very little about Roman belief durng the time of Jesus and need to brush up on that.

The review was indeed very helpful! I already have the book, but I wanted to find a good review by an academic that I could link to and quote from in my blog. I haven’t finished that post yet, though — it covers quite a lot of ground on ancient philosophical approaches to divination and Astrology.
