The Death and Resurrection of Jesus
The cornerstone of the Christian faith is that of the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. If we do not get this, we do not anything. That is why it is so important to learn more about these pivotal events in how God has dealt with humanity through Jesus. I would like to recommend two books in this area.
First of all, I would like to recommend Raymond Brown’s The Death of the Messiah. This is a massive two volume work on everything that the canonical Gospels (and the Gospel of Peter) have to say about the passion of Jesus. Brown interacts extensively with the research. It should be noted that Brown did not come at the Bible from an evangelical perspective, but his treatment is so well done that it is vital to reflect on for anyone interested in the subject.
The second book is Michael Licona’s recent book The Resurrection of Jesus: A New Historiographical Approach. Licona is an evangelical but his book is not just a scriptural defense of the resurrection. Licona takes secular historiographical methods and applies them to the resurrection and competing theories. Licona’s book is such a fresh and vital approach that it is an important work for Christians looking to defend the resurrection accounts to read.
I believe that the Jehovahs witnesis do preach bible truths ,but i would like to know who else does? surely some one else does.
I want to go hear the truth in a loving happy place, Jehovah says we should sing out joyfully. I want to go where there is joy.
There are many churches that preach Bible truth. I belong to a Baptist church and there is both truth and joy. Keep seeking.
