The Lost Princess of Loulan – Review
A friend of mine, named Alan Doerksen, has just written his first novel. It’s called The Lost Princess of Loulan. Here is the official description:
This is the story of a young woman in the ancient western Chinese kingdom of Loulan who is tragically lost at a young age and grows up not knowing her true identity as the heir to the throne of Loulan. Then on the cusp of adulthood she endures another tragedy and faces a life of slavery in the neighbouring kingdom. Will she be rescued or escape before her life is completely ruined? I am not a big reader of fiction but when I do, I prefer historical fiction. That is exactly what this is. It takes place in ancient China, an era that I am not as familiar with.
It is a classic quest tale as the princess struggles to make her way home and discover the truth of her past. We know she is going to make but how will she do it and who will help her?
There is a faith element to the story but it is far from preachy. Those interested in historical fiction from a Christian perspective will enjoy The Lost Princess of Loulan.
