She is My Valentine
One this Valentine’s Day I want to ask, How do you know when it is love?
The emotions are great. I remember our wedding day and seeing Amanda walking down the aisle. What a beautiful bride! We definitely have had our fun times. We have had the opportunity to travel quite a bit, including two cruises. We have both laughed until we cried (over things that no one else would think are funny).
Anyone can stay in love in those times.
However, we have had our share of hits in our life. We lost a child through a miscarriage. We had our two biological children diagnosed with autism. We brought in three other children, each of who have their own challenges. We are currently experiencing some tough times, both with me being without full-time employment and with my health issues.
This is not to complain. This is really to say that the hard times have proved the love that Amanda and I have for one another. If you have ever read the book of Job, you know that Job’s life was turned upside down and his wife only made things worse. Her advice was. “Curse God and die!” Amanda is the complete opposite. Amanda has been a tremendous encouragement and help to me. Each year we discover how much we really need each other. Without our partnership, our family would cease to exist.
I want to take this moment to tell Amanda how much I love her. Not just for all the things she does, but for who she is. Happy Valentine’s Day!
