Amanda is an Amazing Mother
Yesterday was Mother’s Day. On such a day, I was drawn to reflections on Amanda. We have a complex family with plenty of needs and she does such a great job as a mother.
None of our children are the same and Amanda does not attempt a cookie cutter approach to parenting. She recognizes the uniqueness of each child (now mostly adults) and treats them as the individuals they are.
I love listening to Amanda working with Faith on her sewing projects or sharing wisdom with Justus as we experiences life and a full-time working adult or giving Emma room to dream as she prepares to graduate from high school.
Amanda hates the label of “super-mom.” She would be the first to remind people that she is only human and that she has her own challenges. But it is in that context that I hold her in so much respect as a parent.
