Army of the Dead – Review

One of my guilty pleasures is zombie movies/TV shows. I was intrigued when I saw that Zack Snyder had made another zombie movie. I like some of his stuff, so it should be worth watching.

Well, it was a Zack Snyder zombie movie. It was everything you would expect from that.

It definitely wasn’t my favourite zombie movie. It was clunky as much of Snyder’s films seem to be. It was gory and there was a bit of gratuitous nudity as well.

I would say the best thing about the movie was the nature of the zombies. They were definitely not the Walking Dead style of undead. They were much more like those from I Am Legend, with a bit of the Urak-Hai from Lord of the Rings. They have a leader, some of them are smart and they can do much more than just bite.

Army of the Dead was a fun movie with some entertaining bits. It’s not a movie I intend to go back and rewatch but it was okay.
