Good News: A Church Moving Forward
I will confess that I did not know what my congregation would look like after a few months of pandemic. Would we try and hide from reality and seek a safe place?
Queen Street Baptist Church has consistently impressed me. They have been active in reaching out to each other. They have continued to support the ministry of the church financially. They have endured a significant amount of change.
This past Sunday, we had our first business meeting in a long time. We had some important motions to look at that required us to spend money to keep things moving forward.
Instead of holding onto our financial resources “for a rainy day,” they were willing to make decisions that will help pave the way for a healthy future, including taking care of our building.
Don’t get me wrong, we do not spend money foolishly and we do keep money aside for emergencies and special projects. But too many congregations are so tight fisted with their money that they can’t do anything.
This pandemic has been a challenge to many congregations, including our own. But QSBC has not seen this as just an attempt to survive but an intention to thrive.
This is Good News.
