Good News: Interim Ministry
I have been blessed with many different ministry opportunities one the course of my pastoral career. Most recently I had the chance to some interim ministry.
If you are not familiar with interim ministry, it is when a pastor helps a congregation during the transition time between one pastor and another. This includes being involved in worship services, as well as pastoral care and other assistance as needed.
This was a bit of a different opportunity, as I was only a few months into my role as co-pastor of Brookfield Baptist Church. But back in June, I started helping as interim pastor at Lifepoint Church.
This was interesting as for many years these two congregations were a two-point charge, sharing a pastor. Now, years later, they were able to share me.
I had a great time at Lifepoint. It is a wonderful congregation with some great people. I felt like I was able to get to know them much quicker than is often the case.
I am excited that they have called a pastor and that they are about to begin a new chapter of their ministry. I am very thankful that I have been able to play a small role in their journey. This has been a rewarding five months and my prayers will continue to be with this congregation.
