Good News: Seeing the Kids
This pandemic has been difficult on our relationship with Logan and Abby. They live in group homes 1.5 hours away. Being group homes, they have had to be very strict in their protocols.
In addition to the pandemic, both Logan and Abby have had to change group homes. Now that they are both adults, they needed to be in adult group homes. They had been together in one house but now they are in two different houses.
This weekend, Amanda and I were able to go and visit each of them at their group homes. This was our first time visiting them there. Not only that, this was our first visit with Abby in a year.
I will say it was rather emotional. Abby was able to communicate very clearly her sadness about the way things have been. We have missed them terribly. While it was great to see them, it did bring up many sad feelings.
Despite that, I’m thankful that we were able to see them and I look forward to seeing them again in a week.
